- Varanasi

The Great Ganges. It's brown, anyway.

A place that is usually at the bottom of my memory all the time and comes back to me vividly in an instant over and over again.

Namaste.

With the water of a river where corpses flow, people brush their teeth, wash their bodies, and brew chai. Like air, water flows and is shared.

I felt that I could eliminate the dirt from my world by immersing myself in something that seemed to be so dirty.

The corpses of people and cows floating in the Ganges looked so similar that it was hard to distinguish them from each other. Because it was the first time I had ever seen large corpses.

Varanasi in the rainy season, where food and excrement, people and cows, life and death, myself and the world, are all mixed together in the mud.
