拍子抜けするほど人懐っこい。

そんな顔で覗き込まれると、生まれたばかりのような気分になる。




A life of carefully ironing clothes every day.

毎日、丁寧にアイロンをあてる生活。




Independence as a matter of course.

一人前であたりまえ。




The beauty of a fragile city.

壊れやすそうな街の美しさ。




Love My Bus!

俺のバス!




Because he wants to get a look at his back too.

背中にも視線を浴びたいから。




Blissfully waiting in the dimly lit terminal cafeteria for the departure of a long-distance bus.

薄暗いターミナルの食堂で長距離バスの出発を待つ至福の時。




Boiled chickpeas and onion slices on a bed of pasty rice. Not sweet, not spicy, not tasty.

パサパサの米に茹でたヒヨコ豆と玉ねぎのスライス。甘からず、辛からず、美味からず。






- Gilgit  ギルギット -

I saw someone in need as I passed by, so I helped him with a bit of heavy lifting. A man who saw me doing so helped me carry my luggage. When I do something kind to others, they return the kindness. I felt like it had been a long time since I had felt that ordinary mechanism.

通りすがりに困っている人がいたので、力仕事をちょっと手伝った。その近くを通りかかったおじさんが僕の荷物を運ぶと引かない。人に親切をすると親切が返ってくる。そんな当たり前が、久しぶりな気がした。




The cool early morning air fills the cafeteria. With a warm cup of chai, I wait for the bus to take me to the next town.

食堂を満たす早朝の冷たい空気。あったかいチャイ。次の街へ向かうバスを待つ。
